Our Story
Once upon a time…
Andrew and I met on Hinge in 2021. When we matched, sparks flew instantly, and throughout the summer of 2021, we were constantly texting and snap chatting (to ensure he was real) before finally meeting in August. I was extremely nervous about meeting him in person and waited three months before our first face-to-face encounter. He was incredibly patient and persistent—praise God, haha. Our first date took place at Sixty Vines in Uptown. I, of course, arrived late, and Andrew patiently waited for me. The date lasted three+ hours, during which we got lost in conversation, revealing the depth of our connection, shared interests, and mutual friends. It felt as though our paths were destined to cross—even down to the realization that if we were to get married, we would share the same initials: Andrew Stephan Diaz and Audrey Sol Diaz, the ASDs. It was God! I left the date and immediately texted my best friend: “I just met my husband.”
After that first date, we were hooked! We went on our second date the next day. Now it was my turn to be patient because we didn't make it “official” until December 19, 2021, after an ugly Christmas sweater party at one of Andrew's friend's homes.
Our three years together have been full of spontaneous adventure, fun, and love. Ollie Diaz, our tripod Brittany, came into our lives, ensuring that we spend most of our days chasing after him and taking long walks on the Katy Trail.
The day of our engagement was nothing short of pure MAGIC. Andrew was the most thoughtful in every detail. Marie Gabrielle, where he proposed, holds a special place in our hearts—it's where our love story took true form! We would spend weekends with Ollie there, dreaming up our plans for the future. Our engagement was a dream come true—not only saying "Yes" to the man I've prayed for since I was a little girl but also witnessing our families come together seamlessly with pure JOY!
As we embark on the journey of planning our future and our dream day together, we are keenly aware of how the Lord has abundantly blessed us. We've traveled, adventured, cooked, and made many memories and we cannot wait for what’s in store. Thank you, Jesus, for this blessing!
